[ my second date with ema.....shoves wriothesley out of the way
rng (my heart) said to go with luna market so that's where they are now, surrounded by giant moles, colorful booths, and the world's slowest mounts. it's the latter that wriothesley is currently watching with fascination. he's pretty sure he's been at this for five minutes and they've moved maybe a whole foot. wow! ]
I really have to wonder whose idea it was to conscript snails into being transportation.
[ thankfully, i don't hate either of them enough to actually put them on the snails. ]
[ A SECOND DATE..... ema is not date material even if she should be loved by everyone
ema is looking at the wares... they seem pretty benign. too magicky, not scientific enough, but she does have enough whimsy that she's eyeing the candy and the magic wands. ]
The same reasons why moles are here, probably. Can they see if anyone takes their goods?
[ would either of them actually lose enough reason to try riding the snails ]
[ if they were both promised a lifetime supply of tea and snackoos would they brave the snails.... ]
You know, that's a good question. [ cautiously, he waves a hand in front of one of their faces. no response. ] Guess not. But I'm sure they have other means of detecting what goes on around them.
[ although since everything's free anyway, is it really a problem if rampant theft happens? questions to ponder for later. for now, they have (throws darts) potions to make. ]
What say you to trying out some of these activities?
[ getting war flashbacks to tagging boba's ema and also getting pelted in the face with SCIENCE. but in that case! he motions towards one of the potions stalls. ]
[ obviously science because she's a woman of taste? kills eustace again
meanwhile, wriothesley watches her with fascination. he's meddled a little with chemicals but mostly at the encouragement of others, so ema's really the senior here despite his own advanced age. ]
I don't know much about chemicals, but all the ones I've worked with have worked best when added to another formula.
that is as valid a theory as any. she takes a purple one and adds it to the blue on the ground. it splashes on both of them a little by the power of physics and rp.
she looks up, and her interest becomes much more engaged. ]
[ i can enjoy a man enough to want to see him dead multiple times?
but given that wriothesley is in the company of a beautiful, smart woman (and also not dead yet) his mood is quite sunny! look at that mini non-blinding sun above his head. which he hasn't noticed yet. ]
whoa... how sunny. he can see more of a cloud over her head, but there may be some sunshine peeking through. she is looking at the sun with more interest. ]
There's a sun above your head, but I'm not sure what it means yet. I'll have to observe.
w1 monday

The potions interest me the most.
[ they are the most science-looking things here. the spark of interest even makes her seem 20 percent more cheerful. ]
Science doesn't wait for anyone.

Lead the way then, mademoiselle.

not the french, but okay. that tracks since fontaine did sound kind of french to her. she walks over and grabs the first color she sees: blue.
she pours a small portion out on the ground to see if it does anything: nope. ]
Hmm... does it need something else to do anything?
[ or is it just for aesthetic? ]

Oh! How did that happen?
[ what kind of weather is wriothesley's mood? ]

just kidding, he glances up just enough to see that extra light before looking back at ema. ]
Huh. Never had that happen to me before. And how long will I be under observation, Detective Skye?
no subject
[ she isn't going to follow him forever. ]

[ double the research double the fun??? ]
no subject
If you could, but I won't hold you to it.
[ it's not like this is a crime investigation. ]
no subject
she is not the love of his life (yet?) but he likes her well enough, so! ]
Not like I have much else to be doing right now. Your sun's shining a little brighter now, by the way.
no subject
she looks up with some thought. ]
Hmm... I think I'm starting to understand.
[ she does not elaborate. ]
no subject
Anything you'd like to share with the class?
no subject
she smiles because she can also be annoying. ]
I think you can figure it out. You seem like the type to catch on quick.
no subject
deadpan: ]
You're clearly unhappy to see me.
no subject
[ not quite as deadpan, but she also wasn't trying to be. ]
no subject
If I had to take an actual guess, I'd guess that these are tied to our emotions.
no subject
See? I knew you'd catch on. I don't know it's reading our moods, but it's an interesting effect.
no subject
Interesting right up until one of us gets sad and then end up rained on.
no subject
[ obviously joking. ]

[ i'll do anything to make a man cry ]
